The purpose of the Country Manager role is to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the local site, ensuring compliance with Oximio's standards and policies, delivering high-quality services to clients, and providing leadership to the local team. The Country Manager is also responsible for actively managing client relationships and supporting the growth of Oximio's business in Sub Sahara Africa and APAC Region.
Operations & Compliance
- Oversee day‑to‑day depot/site operations, ensuring services are delivered on time, safely, and in compliance with global and local standards.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System requirements and local regulatory frameworks.
- Ensure continuous audit‑readiness and regulatory compliance with local regulatory, GxP, and Oximio global standards.
- Lead implementation of Quality by Design in operational processes.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring CAPAs are implemented timely.
- Coordinate with Global Operations Excellence on facility, equipment, and safety standards.
Client & Business Management
- Actively build, manage and strengthen relationships with clients, vendors and stakeholders.
- Support global Business Development, Sales and Project Management teams by providing local insights and business development input.
- Participate in client meetings, representing Oximio professionally and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Identify local, regional and international business opportunities and elevate them to line management for assessment and possible implementation.
- Actively seek out new clients to bolster the existing client base.
- Actively seek out new vendors to bolster the existing vendor base.
- Act as a trusted partner to clients by ensuring safe, timely, and compliant supply chain solutions.
- Act as the Responsible Pharmacist and/or Deputy Pharmacist when required, in line with national regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and direct pharmaceutical compliance activities at the site, ensuring adherence to GxP and local legislation.
- Ensure that storage, distribution, and handling of medicinal products comply with legal, ethical, and Oximio standards.
- Provide guidance and support to the Quality and Operations teams in all pharmacist-related matters.
- Serve as a point of contact for regulatory authorities on pharmaceutical compliance issues, when delegated.
- Provide regulatory intelligence and guidance to senior leadership.
People Management
- Lead, motivate, and develop the local team, ensuring alignment with Oximio's values and performance expectations.
- Manage staffing needs, training and compliance with local labor laws with assistance from the designated HR resource.
- Maintain high levels of staff engagement and create a positive work culture.
- Arrange one Team Building event every quarter.
- Foster a culture of compliance and accountability across the depot team.
Finance & Administration
- Monitor local costs efficiency and budget adherence (without direct P&L accountability).
- Support timely collections of receivables by liaising with clients and Global Finance Team.
- Contribute to financial sustainability through efficiency and compliance-driven operations.
- Ensure company assets are safeguarded and used efficiently.
Collaboration with Global Functions
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, QA, Legal, IT, Compliance and all other Departments within Oximio to ensure consistent application of Oximio policies and standards.
- Provide regular updates to regional/global management on performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Act as a local voice in global strategy discussions for compliance and operational alignment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy/Business or an equivalent scientific/healthcare discipline.
- Minimum 10 years experience in business management and development.
- Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical logistics and clinical trial supply chain operations and logistics, with the ability to translate technical expertise into strategic decisions.
- Proven track record in leading high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, managing multi-cultural staff, and managing complex client relationships.
- Strong expertise in compliance, quality assurance, and regulatory frameworks within the healthcare/pharma sector, ensuring governance and risk management at a leadership level.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant digital tools, leveraging technology for data-driven decision-making.
