Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Accurate costing for farming and packing operations.
• Perform detailed cost analysis and reporting.
• Monitor and analyse inventory variances, production inefficiencies, and wastage.
• Maintain and report on product costing and inventory.
• Oversee inventory management processes.
• Collaborate with production and finance teams to implement cost control measures.
• Support the budgeting and financial planning processes.
• Prepare daily and weekly productivity reports.
• Assist with the roll-out and implementation of new systems.
• Provide general financial support to the Financial Manager.

Job description

Our client based in Worcester, Western Cape is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical accuracy, excellent Excel skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within an agricultural production environment. Our client has been in this industry for multiple generations and multiple years of compound knowledge, science and nature into something that they believe will live and grow beyond themselves.

Minimum Requirements:

• 2–3 years’ experience in cost accounting or a similar role
• Experience in an agricultural production environment will be advantageous
• BCom Degree or relevant Finance Qualification
• Completed SAICA / SAIPA articles will be advantageous
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans
• Driver's License and own reliable transport
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP Systems and Bill of Material (BOM)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities
