As a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) within the Goldfields Region, you will play a crucial role in providing psychiatric assessment, treatment, and management for children and adolescents (0-18 years) and their families.
You will be focused on the 0-18 age group, addressing a range of presentations including insecure attachment issues, anxiety, neurodivergent complexities, and increased risk issues such as suicidal ideation, non‑suicidal self‑injury, and substance use.
You will also tackle school‑related difficulties and contribute to the overall well‑being of our diverse patient population in the region.
You will collaborate with the Regional Manager Mental Health, Director of Clinical Services, and the CAMHS team leader to offer consultation and clinical advice to multidisciplinary teams.
Your role will be crucial in supporting the provision of mental health services across the entire Goldfields region.
You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in fulfilling work that spans two contrasting yet uniquely enriching locations – Esperance and Kalgoorlie.
Regular travel between these sites and outreach services in Norseman, Laverton, Leonora, and Menzies is required.
You will also collaborate closely with Aboriginal communities, expanding cultural awareness, and actively contributing to cultural safety practices in the Goldfields.
You can experience a great work‑life balance with a roster from 08:30 to 16:30 Monday‑Friday, with no on‑call responsibilities.
You will participate in projects within CAMHS, implementing ICAMHS Taskforce recommendations and Models of Care, and contributing to innovative service design, particularly in infant mental health.
Consultant Year 1–9 salary range $, – $, per annum pro rata, inclusive of base salary, a professional development allowance of $34, per annum, and a 12% employer contribution towards superannuation.
Salary is based on WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement.
