Job summary

A leading construction firm in Gauteng is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to develop and manage the company's Quality System and ensure compliance with construction standards. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 7 years of experience in QAQC roles in the construction industry. Knowledge in the data centre sector is advantageous. Strong leadership and communication skills are crucial for guiding site teams and coordinating with various stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in QAQC roles within the construction industry.
  • Minimum of one project experience in a QAQC managerial role.
  • Specific experience in the data centre industry will be an advantage.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage a Company Quality System and project‑specific QAQC plans, inspection procedures, and checklists.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with local codes and technical specifications.
  • Lead quality inspections, audits, and assessments across all trades.
  • Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure proper execution of works and adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Review and approve material and method statements in accordance with project standards.
  • Maintain documentation for inspection reports, non‑conformance reports, and corrective actions.
  • Train and guide site teams on quality standards and best practices.
  • Prepare site for CONQUAS (Construction Quality Assessment System and QM assessments, including mock‑up reviews and scoring strategy).
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements to enhance quality performance.
  • Acquaint project personnel with QA requirements and arrangements.
  • Audit and monitor QA systems for compliance and effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in QAQC roles within the construction industry.
  • Minimum of one project experience in a QAQC managerial role.
