Reddam House Waterfall is a co-educational and non-denominational environment designed to recognise, nurture and develop the individuality of each student placed in our care and to extend students to their maximum potential in all aspects of education.

All students in our Preparatory School are required to participate in at least two extra-curricular activities per week. One sporting and one cultural. We encourage as much participation and involvement as possible. The extra-curricular timetable caters for beginners, as well as those students who are at a provincial level in their particular activity. The Music @ Reddam programme is a wonderful curriculum offering for all students in Grades 4 – 6.

This programme involves an individual instrumental music lesson, as well as participation in an ensemble. All students are involved in the Reddam Gives Back Programme, whereby each class.

ROLE SUMMARY:

  • Printing and emailing documents as requested by staff.
  • Typing of educational materials and assessments if needs be.
  • Assisting with printing of certificates and programmes for school functions.
  • Assisting Deputy Head with ordering and stock of medals and trophies for awards
  • Assisting the Academic Head with IEB-related administration such as arranging IEB deliveries etc.
  • Checking stationery cupboard weekly and ordering as necessary.
  • Checking medical supply cupboard weekly and placing orders through the Chemist.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcoming visitors to the school and redirecting them to requested person / venue in the school or administration wing.
  • Keeping reception area and piazza neat and tidy.
  • Answering phones and taking messages / passing on information / emailing messages to staff.
  • Forwarding emails that come to reception email address on to relevant staff members.
  • Signing for any deliveries and distributing post to relevant members of staff /departments.
  • Receiving and distributing magazines/newspapers.
  • Liaising with staff regarding orders / deliveries / collections.
  • Receiving prospective students/ parents/ staff to the School.
  • Keeping an emergency contact list and procedures updated in Reception File.
  • Assisting with large Public Relations events such as Open/ Information sessions
  • SA SAMS work to compliance
  • Communicating with parents to advertise all important Back to School dates and procedures
  • Compiling and mailing of the weekly College Newsletter.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Confidence with the use of IT
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong administrative skills
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience will be advantageous
  • Relevant qualifications
  • Making telephone calls to parents on behalf of students.
  • Managing the collection and return of Lost Property.
  • Writing out exit forms for students leaving school early.
  • Managing the Sick Bay – tending to students who are injured or are unwell.
  • Tending to wounds / injuries; keep an eye on students in the sick bay and providing TLC to sick children; keep sick bay area clean and tidy.
  • Contacting the parents of sick or wounded students.
