Seeking a Code 10 Driver - Contractor in Durban

POSITION INFO

Job Title: Code 10 Driver

Seniority Level: Mid-Career (2 - 4 yrs exp)

Region: KwaZulu Natal

Job Purpose

To ensure safe, timely, and professional delivery and collection of parcels and freight to and from customers, using a Code 10 vehicle. The driver will represent the company in a courteous and responsible manner, maintaining a high level of customer service and ensuring that all deliveries and collections are completed efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and collect parcels and freight as per daily schedules and routing plans.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues.
  • Ensure all documentation (waybills, delivery notes, PODs) is accurately completed and returned.
  • Adhere to all road traffic rules and company policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and operations team.
  • Assist with loading / unloading of parcels as required.
  • Handle parcels with care to avoid damage or loss.
  • Use handheld devices or delivery apps for navigation and tracking purposes (if applicable).
  • Report any delays, accidents, or incidents immediately.
Minimum Requirements
  • Valid Code 10 Driver’s License with valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
  • Minimum of 2 years driving experience, preferably in the courier / logistics industry
  • Matric certificate or equivalent (advantageous)
