CNC Programmer at Siemens Energy

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating CNC programs across various machining environments, creating solid models and detailed drawings, and compiling setup sheets to assist in the efficient planning and manufacturing of components. The successful candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming, CAD software, and tool design.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Generate CNC programs using CAM software for the following machining environments (Two-axis turning; Three to five axis milling; four axis wire erosion)
• Create solid models and detailed drawings in CAD format using Siemens NX.
• Ensure all designs meet specifications and quality standards.
• Compile comprehensive setup sheets for CNC operations.
• Work closely with the production team to ensure smooth workflow and address any programming or setup issues.
• Maintain CNC equipment and infrastructure to ensure high level of reliability and compliance with latest technologies.
• Contributes to production planning, determine priorities to meet production schedules.
• Mentor and coach employees to develop across different techniques.
• Maintain professional housekeeping and safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Matriculation with a Tool Maker trade test certificate or NHD in Engineering
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in CNC programming and CAD design.
• Proficient in the following software: Siemens NX, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
• Completed Supervisory, Management or Leadership Course / Certificate
• Knowledge of Fanuc and Siemens numerical controls.
• Experience in setting up CNC machines.
• Familiarity with tool and jig design and manufacture.
• Available for overtime and emergency call out.
• Reside in the Johannesburg area with own transport to work and back.
