The Cloud Platform Architect will design and govern a secure, scalable and compliant cloud foundation to support national-scale workloads within regulated financial services. The role focuses on cloud landing zones, platform architecture, identity and security, network design, and resilience across multi-cloud environments. Operating in a hybrid model based in Cape Town, the architect will work closely with security, risk, platform, and engineering teams to ensure cloud solutions meet regulatory standards while supporting performance, scalability and cost optimisation.
The Cloud Platform Architect will be responsible for the strategic design, governance, and implementation of cloud platform capabilities across Azure, AWS and Google Cloud. This includes defining secure landing zones, network architecture, identity and access frameworks, encryption models, and platform services. The role will provide architectural leadership for core banking, payments, data and digital channel workloads. The architect will work with security and risk stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and operational readiness, while guiding platform scalability, business continuity, disaster recovery, and cost optimisation for large-scale cloud environments.
