A leading company in the maritime industry is seeking an Electrical Manager to oversee the maintenance and installation of electrical systems onboard its cruise ship. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. You will ensure compliance with safety regulations, lead the electrical team, and implement preventive maintenance programs, making recommendations for system improvements as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the maintenance, repair, and installation of all electrical systems and equipment onboard the cruise ship
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and safety of all electrical systems
- Monitor and analyze electrical systems performance, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards for electrical systems and equipment
- Train and supervise the electrical team on board, providing guidance and support as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other vessel operations
- Manage and maintain inventory of electrical equipment and spare parts, ensuring timely procurement and replacement when necessary
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in electrical systems and equipment, and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the maritime industry
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment, including generators, switchboards, motors, and control systems
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards, such as SOLAS, IMO, and IEC
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work on board vessels for extended periods of time
