Responsibilities
- Draft press releases, news articles and other forms of internal or external communication with the ability to write in a variety of styles to appeal to different audiences.
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Assistant and School Administration Office.
- Manage and plan the termly school calendars, coordinate the compiling of the annual school magazine, attend campus calendar & communications meetings and related admin.
- Plan, coordinate and manage event timelines and budgets; conduct research, site visits, and identify resources to support staff decisions about events, school marketing and fundraising opportunities.
- Prepare written materials including marketing material, school communications, reports; create and send emails, newsletters, etc. using the school’s contact management system and other social media platforms; undertake videography, photography and presentation scripting as appropriate.
- Work with the school communications team to support branding, advertising and promotional activities.
- Be willing to work flexible hours (including weekends, holidays and evenings) as required.
- Participate in related admin and maintain up-to-date records and documentation as part of the school and church-based ethos.
Qualifications
- A relevant tertiary qualification coupled with experience in communications / PR / Events Logistics; experience in an educational environment would be a distinct advantage.
- Experience in public relations and media liaison with demonstrated use of the full range of social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
- Significant experience in drafting press releases, news articles and other forms of internal or external communication with the ability to write in a variety of styles for different audiences.
- Excellent command of English (verbal and written); meticulous attention to editing and formatting detail.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team as well as independently; ability to work under pressure with a variety of people and school stakeholders.
- Experience in and demonstrated ability to project manage event timelines, plan, prioritise, and meet tight deadlines.
- High level computer skills, knowledge of desktop publishing, and website function and design would be an advantage.
- Willingness to work within the Church-based / Christian ethos of the College and participate in the broader life of the school.
- Up to date Sexual Offender's Clearance Certificate is required for staff working within a school.
