Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and record all financial transactions.
  • Update and reconcile the general ledger.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Support month-end reporting.

Description/Synopsis:

A well-established engineering business in Northriding is looking for a motivated Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join their Head Office team. This is an excellent opportunity to build a solid foundation in accounting while gaining exposure to the financial operations of a growing company. You’ll work closely with the finance team, ensuring accurate record-keeping, reporting, and compliance, while being supported in your professional growth within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Minimum Requirements:
  • BCom Accounting degree or currently studying towards one
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Junior Accounting or Bookkeeping role
  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero or Pastel (essential)
  • Knowledge of intercompany transactions and transfer pricing advantageous
  • Exposure to payroll processing and related reconciliations beneficial
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability
  • Experience in an engineering, shared services, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Excellent communication, accuracy, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and record all financial transactions, including purchases, expenses, and revenue entries
  • Update and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support month-end reporting and assist in preparing financial statements
  • Capture and review payroll data, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Assist with VAT submissions and ad-hoc tax and audit queries
  • Liaise with internal departments to support business operations and improve financial efficiency
