BBBEE and CSR Compliance Specialist

Location: New Concept Mining - Aeroton, Johannesburg, Gauteng
Department: Human Resources / Compliance
Reports to: Human Resources Manager

Job Purpose

To ensure full compliance with Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) legislation and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments across the manufacturing operations. This role will drive transformation, inclusive procurement, and community engagement while maintaining alignment with internal policies and external regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

BBBEE Compliance

  • Develop and implement BBBEE strategies aligned with Codes of Good Practice.
  • Monitor and report on BBBEE scorecard performance across all pillars: Ownership, Management Control, Skills Development, Enterprise and Supplier Development, and Socio-Economic Development.
  • Coordinate BBBEE audits and verification processes with external agencies (e.g. MSCTBEE, DSV)
  • Liaise with procurement teams to ensure supplier compliance and preferential procurement targets are met
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit readiness and reporting.

CSR Oversight

  • Design and manage CSR programmes that align with community upliftment goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and execute impactful social investment initiatives.
  • Track and report CSR spend and outcomes, ensuring alignment with BBBEE socio-economic development targets.

Policy and Governance

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies such as Business Code of Practice (BCoP), Code of Conduct (CoC), and ISO standards
  • Support the development and rollout of compliance frameworks and training across departments.
  • Manage and implement all learnerships, bursaries, apprenticeship, Abet and Yes4Youth programs.
  • Advise senior management on legislative changes and strategic implications.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Facilitate workshops and presentations to educate staff and suppliers on BBBEE and CSR requirements.
  • Work closely with Communications department with regards to employee engagement.
  • Serve as the focal point for compliance-related queries and escalations.
  • Build strong relationships with community leaders, NGOs, and government bodies.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in BBBEE, CSR, or compliance roles within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of BBBEE legislation, Codes of Good Practice, and CSR frameworks.
  • Experience with audit preparation and verification processes.
  • Excellent communication, administration, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
