- Ad-hoc: To assist in the day-to-day operations of the firm.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Ensure prompt reporting and that all deadlines are met.
- Review the allocation of audits to staff members, ensuring understanding of duties.
- Review composition of audit teams.
- Complete relevant sections of the PRs for all team members and discuss reports with them.
- Ensure trainee accountants have completed TSR, PSR, and ER as relevant.
- Supervise and guide trainees regularly to perform required audit work and achieve competencies as per SAICA standards.
- Coach, train, and develop auditing staff to upgrade their knowledge on the job and in the office environment.
- Complete performance evaluations and discuss with the engagement partner.
- Mentor staff members.
- Implement consequence management if standards are transgressed.
- Identify client needs for additional services and communicate to the engagement director.
- Ensure full compliance with the firm’s quality control processes.
- Review risks identified during planning and materiality levels to focus audit efforts.
- Ensure that all financial statements (AFS) are accurate and tie back to audit files, and comply with IFRS or applicable frameworks.
- Achieve team and individual budgets and performance objectives.
- Create client projects on Maconomy in a timely manner.
- Provide cash flow forecasts to the engagement director promptly.
- Handle billing and collection for your portfolio.
- Review and approve leave applications for mentees.
- Take leadership in professional, business, or community organizations.
- Assist with marketing projects such as graduate recruitment and other initiatives.
Qualifications:
CA(SA)
Experience:
2-3 years post-articles experience.
