Job Advert Summary

To perform and assist the Artisans in some of the facets of their day to day tasks by doing the less complex repairs and duties

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
• Two years’ experience in relevant field
• Valid drivers licence and the ability to pass Rand Waters K53.
• Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) with N2 in Mechanical Engineering is added advantage
• Experience in vehicles, tractor, and lawnmowers is added advantage

Primary Duties

• Assist Artisans, remove and replace components from equipment plant or vehicles as instructed. • Assist Mechanic on tasks that can only be performed by two or more people • Assist with the completion of work orders
• Dismantle and /or assemble components from equipment, plant or vehicles as instructed
• Hand tools to the Artisan as requested to conduct repairs or maintenance
• Assist Artisan by starting vehicle or working Mechanical equipment to establish whether it works
• Remove or strip a component for repairs
• Cleaning of the work area and cleaning tools on completion of the job
• Removing of wheels and greasing the nipple, cleaning brake linings and assist Artisan with replacement of brakes and bearings
• Draining of oil and refilling
• Repairing of punctures and fit new tyres as needed
• Assist Mechanic in setting up diagnostic machine and assist with conducting tasks
