Responsibilities

  • Assist with financial reporting and preparation of financial statements.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Assisting with financial reporting and working closely with senior accountants or auditors to prepare financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
  • Conducting audits and being involved in auditing various client accounts, ensuring that the financial statements presented are in line with IFRS for SME.
  • Bookkeeping and data capturing and processing financial transactions in the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the data.
  • Taxation – assisting with tax compliance and completing tax returns.
  • Conducting research and providing insights on financial and accounting matters.
  • Client management – interacting with clients, responding to queries, and building relationships with them while staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments, including changes in accounting standards and tax laws.
  • Ad hoc tasks – assisting with various ad‑hoc tasks, such as project management, business advisory services, and other administrative tasks as required.
Requirements and Skills
  • Completed B. Com / B.
  • Compt degree SAIPA / Accounting field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
  • Pro‑active and willing to take responsibility.
  • Analytical with ability to work well under pressure.
  • Diligent, deadline driven and focused.
  • Administratively inclined and entrepreneurially minded.
  • Good theoretical and technical background in accounting, auditing and tax.
  • Willing, interested and able to continue technical growth to become an industry leader in any of these fields.
  • Keen interest in financial year‑end duties such as preparing annual financial statements for clients.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and own transport is essential.
  • Living arrangements in close proximity to office preferred.
  • Contactable references especially with regards to technical background (i.e. lectures or similar).
  • Clear ITC and criminal record (and approval for us to do checks).
