Job summary

A manufacturing company in Richards Bay seeks a professional to oversee the development of production plans and manage human capital at Level 1. The role includes ensuring optimized staffing, continuous improvement initiatives, and performance management systems to drive labor productivity. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of output-driven production plans.
  • Ensure departmental manning is optimized and cost control measures are in place.
  • Manage successful execution of recovery drive within the department.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and embed CI culture.
  • Coordinate training and development of shop floor frontline employees.
  • Manage and control human capital issues at Level 1.
  • Support Shift Leaders in executing their responsibilities.
  • Ensure expeditious metal planning and liaison with third parties.
  • Develop performance management systems for Level 1 and Shift Leaders.
  • Facilitate implementation of roles, responsibilities, and routines.
  • Ensure achievement of key departmental KPIs.
Job description
  • To oversee the development of output-driven production plans and liaise with the planning department such that optimal loading is achieved
  • Ensure that the departmental manning with particular reference to level 1 is optimised and proper cost control measures are in place
  • Manage successful execution of recovery drive within the entire department
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and embed CI culture
  • Coordinate training and development of the shop floor frontline employees
  • Ability to manage and control all human capital issues at Level 1 in the department
  • Support Shift Leaders in executing their core responsibilities
  • Ensure metal planning is done expeditiously including liaison with third parties and scrap recycling to optimize production plan
  • Develop performance management systems for all Level 1 and Shift Leaders to ensure that labour productivity is improved and sustained
  • Facilitate the implementation of roles, responsibilities and routines
  • Ensure that key departmental KPIs on the shop floor are achieved in line with the business objectives
