A leading engineering and manufacturing company serving the hard rock and underground mining sector is seeking a qualified Applications Engineer to join their technical team in Germiston.
This role is ideal for a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys problem‑solving technical investigation and applying engineering principles to real-world challenges in a demanding industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Compile detailed engineering and technical reports including investigations into product wear performance concerns and failure analysis
• Conduct technical assessments and provide root‑cause findings and recommendations
• Make practical suggestions to improve product performance reliability and lifespan
• Perform engineering calculations
• Support internal teams and customers with technical guidance and application support
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives based on field and performance feedback

Requirements

• BEng / BSc / BTech in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Exposure to mining heavy industrial or mechanical equipment environments
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering calculations
• Ability to interpret technical data and compile professional reports
• Experience in technical reporting, failure investigations or applications engineering
• Good communication skills and the ability to present technical findings clearly
• Strong attention to detail and a structured analytical approach
• Proficiency in MS Excel and engineering calculation tools
