SUMMARY :
To provide high-level technical support, administration, and strategic input in the planning, implementation, management, and maintenance of the organisation's ICT infrastructure. This includes server and network systems, security, data continuity, end-user support, and aligning ICT initiatives with business needs.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS :
- Grade 12 and / Related tertiary qualification and / or Computer Technology or Information Engineering majoring in Computer Science preferred.
- Certification in A+ / N+ / MCSE / Azure / AI / Cyber Security
- 3-5 years’ experience in a Systems Administrator or equivalent role, including experience with managing enterprise-level systems and infrastructure.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Information Systems Engineering
- Deliver a strategic, proactive, and cost-efficient IT and telecommunications service, aligned with business goals.
- Architect and implement IT solutions that meet operational and scalability needs of the business.
- Administer and maintain enterprise-grade servers, peripherals, storage, and directories.
- Deploy and manage line-of-business systems such as M-Files, BuildSmart, and Candy.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and ISO standards across all IT systems.
- Develop and execute an IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Lead IT asset lifecycle management, ensuring secure and auditable infrastructure.
- Establish IT governance policies and best practices to drive productivity and reduce risk.
- Optimize procurement of IT assets by evaluating suppliers, maintaining a preferred vendor list, and managing licensing.
- Align IT strategies with business goals by identifying and resolving strategic mismatches between systems, users, and objectives.
Information Technology and Operations Support
- Provide responsive Tier 1 - 2 technical support to end‑users in a professional and user‑friendly manner, resolving IT issues efficiently and with minimal disruption.
- Administer and maintain network infrastructure, including the design, planning, and implementation of LAN / WAN connectivity, ensuring secure and scalable data communication solutions.
- Manage network hardware and software, including switches, routers, cabling, and network servers (file, print, application, backup, and mail servers), ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies and tools related to computer networking, data security, and server virtualization, in consultation with vendors and stakeholders.
- Perform regular server monitoring and maintenance, verifying integrity and availability of hardware, software, system logs, and scheduled jobs.
- Conduct regular backup operations, including data archiving, tape rotation, off‑site storage management, and restore testing to ensure business continuity.
- Manage and maintain user accounts, access controls, file sharing permissions, and security policies across Active Directory and enterprise applications.
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures, coordinating with users and external vendors when necessary.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex server and data network issues unassisted, using root cause analysis and implementing long‑term solutions.
- Maintain documentation of LAN layout, server configurations, IP schema, and network topology diagrams.
- Administer antivirus and anti‑spam servers, regularly updating definitions and scanning systems for malware, spyware, and unauthorized software.
- Provide support for Office 365, hosted Exchange, and Skype for Business, ensuring user access, license management, and service uptime.
- Maintain and support biometric access control, CCTV systems, and physical security infrastructure in coordination with facilities management.
- Implement and enforce IT systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance and standardization across all sites and branches.
- Prepare and maintain a schedule of planned repairs, maintenance activities, and patch deployments.
- Monitor and manage email systems, perform diagnostics, review logs, and resolve mail delivery or access issues.
- Perform routine server health checks, maintain a secure and organized server room, and oversee asset tagging and cabling standards.
- Support the deployment of new desktops, laptops, and peripherals by installing required software and configuring settings as per company standards.
- Assist with IT contingency planning, including failover strategies, DRP execution, and testing.
- Maintain system stability and data availability through the implementation of disaster recovery and high‑availability protocols.
- Offer onsite and remote support to satellite offices and project sites, ensuring consistent IT service delivery across all locations.
- Provide user training and onboarding (including induction briefings and documentation) to maximize system productivity and reduce support requests.
Telecommunications Support
- Oversee and maintain corporate telephony infrastructure, including VOIP, PABX, and mobile solutions.
- Coordinate installation, updates, and troubleshooting of telecommunication systems.
- Monitor and maintain telecom software and hardware performance to ensure availability and quality of service.
IT Administration
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and documentation, including lifecycle tracking.
- Enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures, and identify and mitigate security risks.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and monthly health checks across all systems.
- Maintain a clean, secure, and well‑documented server room and data center environment.
- Manage procurement and stock control, including monthly IT asset audits and stock takes.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise Junior IT personnel, delegate tasks, and oversee daily support operations.
- Identify training needs and provide technical mentorship to team members.
- Initiate disciplinary procedures in line with HR / ICT policies.
Full Stack Development, Coding, AI Tools
- App development and improvements (patch management and compatibility upgrades).
- Full stack development and coding, web design and security, cybersecurity mitigation.
- AI research and Integration.
