Job summary

A leading logistics company located in Durban seeks a responsible individual to oversee all administrative functions. You will ensure compliance with health and safety standards, lead and develop the admin team, and provide monthly reports. The ideal candidate must have a Matric certificate with computer literacy, a driver's licence, and 3-5 years of relevant experience. Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years' experience working in a similar role/industry.
  • Technically sound in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all administration functions required by the branch.
  • Ensuring full compliance with H.S.E. and various audit requirements.
  • Resolving administrative queries submitted by the Site Manager.
  • Leading and developing the admin team, including training and mentoring.
  • Providing monthly admin performance reports to Site Manager.

Job description

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to:

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing all administration functions required by the branch.
  • Ensuring full compliance with H.S.E. and various audit requirements.
  • Resolving any and all administrative queries submitted by the Site Manager.
  • Ensuring full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Policies.
  • Performing administrative activities associated with effective management of the admin team, including record keeping, reporting, query resolution and compliance.
  • Optimise, and continually improve internal procedures to ensure fast and effective delivery service, helping to achieve organisational efficiencies.
  • Lead and develop the admin team, including training, coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensure collaboration across relevant business units to foster stronger teamwork and more streamlined communication.
  • Performing ad hoc functions as instructed by Site manager.
  • Assist with procurement for site related expenditure.
  • Assist with running of the office.
  • Prepare and distribute consolidated reports within the set parameters.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits, claims, permits, and safety inspections.
  • Review financial and operational data [in house and external systems] to identify trends or discrepancies.
  • Provide monthly admin performance reports to Site Manager.
  • Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and support career development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Act as the first point of contact for admin team issues, leave planning, and HR coordination.
Qualifications
