Accountant / Finance Controller job vacancy in Cape Town.

We are looking for an Accountant / Finance Controller to support the financial operations of our South African entity.

The focus of this role is on local compliance, reporting, and financial controls rather than strategic finance leadership. Many strategic and managerial finance functions are now managed by our international finance hub, and this role will ensure that local statutory, tax, and regulatory obligations are fully met.

Salary: R35 000 – R45 000 per month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit financial statements in compliance with South African regulations.
  • Ensure tax, Companies Act, and CIPC compliance.
  • Provide financial reporting and analysis on local operations to support the wider group.
  • Manage internal financial controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Assist with audit processes as required by group instructions.
  • Provide support to local management on financial matters (without direct budget ownership).
  • Monitor cash flow and local treasury requirements (within guidelines set by HQ).
  • Collaborate with the Group Finance team and Business Support Center to align reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in financial accounting, controlling, or auditing.
  • Strong knowledge of South African financial regulations and tax requirements.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP an advantage).
  • Prior experience in a compliance or financial control capacity.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
