The Accounting Manager will be stationed, ensuring proper accounting processes and accurate reporting for both the trading and processing divisions. The role requires strong expertise in SYSCOHADA accounting standards and hands-on experience in product costing and cost optimization. The Accounting Manager will supervise and guide the factory accountant, ensuring reliable reporting, accurate costing, and cost efficiency initiatives to keep the company\'s pricing competitive.

Role & responsibilities
  • Accounting & Reporting
    • Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations for both trading and processing entities.
    • Ensure compliance with SYSCOHADA standards and all statutory requirements.
    • Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for submission to the Group FC.
    • Maintain accuracy of reconciliations (banks, ledgers, intercompany balances, inventory, etc.).
  • Product Costing & Cost Efficiency
    • Review and validate factory product costing to ensure accuracy and reliability.
    • Guide and mentor the factory accountant in cost accounting practices.
    • Lead cost efficiency initiatives to improve margins and keep pricing competitive.
    • Provide actionable insights to management on cost drivers and opportunities for optimization.
  • Audit & Compliance
    • Coordinate statutory and tax audits, liaising with external auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
    • Ensure proper documentation, timely tax filings, and adherence to local laws and regulations.
  • Group & Local Coordination
    • Report functionally to the Group FC for accounting policies, reporting, and consolidation.
    • Report administratively to the Country Manager for day-to-day operations and support.
    • Ensure alignment of local accounting practices with Group policies and reporting standards.
Preferred candidate profile
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, DSCG) preferred.
  • 5-8 years experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of SYSCOHADA accounting standards.
  • Strong exposure to cost accounting, product costing, and cost control in trading or manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to supervise and guide factory accountants.
  • Skilled in accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Fluency in English; working knowledge of French required.
