Job summary

A leading logistics company in Gqeberha is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Specialist to enhance customer service and manage freight operations. The ideal candidate has over 7 years of experience in end-to-end freight processes and excels in customer service. Responsibilities include assisting customers with queries, compiling RFQs, and leading operational meetings. The position requires expertise in Office 365 and Cargowise. This role is vital for maintaining excellent client relationships and ensuring operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Job description
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding environment end to end process
  • 3 years’ experience in a customer servicing role
  • Matric (essential)
  • Sales / Marketing / Supply Chain or Logistics Management Qualification (Advantageous)
  • Computer packages: Office 365 (Teams, OneNote, Forms), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Cargowise
Duties and Responsibilities
Daily
  • Assist with any queries customers may have and work with operations in updating and resolving as required.
  • Compile RFQs & sign off estimates when required.
  • Monitor the communication and distribution of status reports.
  • Assist and support the operation any ‘out-of-ordinary’ freight requirements, such as COD’s or hand carries.
Weekly
  • Monitor status reports for any issues and convey concerns to customer logistics.
  • Lead weekly meetings with operations to improve customer service.
  • Facilitating operational meetings between customer and DSV operational controllers.
  • Focusing on customer requirements and driving continuous improvements.
  • Attend to all stakeholder queries and requests (internal & external).
  • Work with other business units of the company to develop long-term customer partnerships with all divisions.
  • Update SOPs for client and internal business process.
  • Managing customer statement and any queries to ensure customer overdues are settled.
  • Hosting weekly meetings with operations and customer shared services team.
  • Managing customer appointed carrier contract (SEA).
  • Managing WAKEO track and trace platform.
Monthly
  • Compiling monthly management/customer reports and co-present to customer on a monthly basis.
  • Manage customer statements and overdues, as well as actively working with operations and finance to solve any invoice queries the customer may have.
  • Maintaining and updating RFQs (ROE & bunker mechanisms).
Other Duties
  • Covering of fellow employee’s desk during absence as a result of sick leave or annual leave.
  • Customer dinners and general entertainment as and when required.
  • Manage quarterly ROIC.
