We strive to have a remarkable impact on people’s lives across several key therapeutic areas – immunology, oncology, neuroscience, and eye care – and products and services in our Allergan Aesthetics portfolio.

PRIMARY FUNCTION / OBJECTIVE

As a Product Specialist for Allergan Aesthetics in the KwaZulu-Natal region, you will serve as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor to healthcare professionals within the aesthetic and medical community.

You will be accountable for driving business growth, market leadership, and professional education across the region, representing some of the most trusted and innovative brands in aesthetics.

This is a role for a seasoned commercial leader – someone who combines scientific credibility, strategic foresight, and a deep understanding of the aesthetic ecosystem to build long-term partnerships and deliver exceptional market results.

Core Job Responsibilities
Strategic Customer & Stakeholder Leadership

Drive market share growth and deliver consistent, above-target performance across the Allergan Aesthetics portfolio.

Build and sustain high-impact partnerships with top aesthetic practitioners, clinics, and KOLs throughout KwaZulu-Natal.

Translate complex scientific and clinical data into meaningful insights and conversations that elevate AbbVie’s value proposition.

Lead strategic business discussions that go beyond the product, focusing on patient outcomes, practice growth, and category development.

Act as a trusted regional ambassador for the Allergan Aesthetics brand, ensuring alignment with global standards and corporate vision.

Identify, mentor, and develop regional speakers, educators, and advocates who advance scientific exchange and peer learning.

Market & Business Intelligence

Demonstrate thought leadership in market analysis, competitive intelligence, and strategic opportunity identification.

Anticipate and respond to shifts in the aesthetic landscape, guiding local strategies to capitalize on emerging trends.

Contribute market insights and innovative ideas to the national Brand and Leadership team, helping shape forward-looking strategy.

Champion continuous learning – staying ahead of scientific developments, industry innovation, and evolving HCP needs.

Territory Excellence & Operational Accountability

Operate as a business owner of the KwaZulu-Natal territory, developing, executing, and adapting a comprehensive engagement plan.

Use CRM analytics and performance dashboards to drive data-based decision-making, optimizing coverage, frequency, and ROI.

Collaborate seamlessly across functions, working closely with Medical Advisors, AMI, Clinical Specialists, and Marketing teams to ensure unified customer experience.

Maintain full compliance with AbbVie’s ethical and operational standards, including sample accountability, documentation, and call quality metrics.

Represent AbbVie at regional congresses, industry forums, and professional education events, amplifying the company’s leadership presence.

Competencies & Leadership Attributes

Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Ability to distil market insights into actionable business strategies.

Influence & Gravitas: Builds credibility and inspires trust among senior clinicians, practice owners, and internal teams.

Scientific & Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of medical aesthetics, patient pathways, and product differentiation.

Relationship Excellence: A connector who creates long-term partnerships based on integrity, value, and shared success.

Entrepreneurial Drive: Operates with autonomy and accountability to achieve exceptional business outcomes.

Agility & Resilience: Thrives in dynamic, competitive environments while maintaining professionalism and focus.

Collaboration in a Matrix: Works effectively within cross-functional and cross-regional teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a science or health-related discipline (e.g., B.Sc., B.Pharm, BMedSci); postgraduate business qualifications are advantageous.

Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical aesthetics, or medical device sales – preferably within an advanced or specialty setting.

Proven track record of delivering sustainable growth in complex, competitive markets.

Demonstrated success in developing KOL networks, influencing decision-makers, and executing territory strategy.

Strong business acumen with advanced analytical and digital fluency (MS Office, CRM systems).

Uncompromising commitment to ethics, compliance, and corporate responsibility.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across the KwaZulu-Natal region, including extended hours when required.
