About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional Intermediate Phase teacher (Grades 4–7) to start in January 2026. Teachers lead instruction and planning for subject- or grade-level classrooms and drive a rigorous, enquiry-based learning environment. Resident Teachers are supported by Deans of Instruction who provide feedback and coaching, and they mentor Apprentice Teachers. Applicants who are still studying or newly qualified without experience will not be considered for this role, given the specialised nature of Upper Primary.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with learning designers to design impactful lessons
  • Design and deliver engaging enquiry-based lessons supported by technology
  • Observe, coach and model teaching for Apprentice Teachers
  • Infuse joy and passion for learning to engage students in academic excellence
  • Set and communicate rigorous goals and provide feedback that students internalise
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student progress and use data to adjust instruction
  • Attend weekly feedback meetings with Deans and learning designers
  • Participate in professional growth opportunities including daily team meetings, weekly professional development, coaching, and organisation-wide learning
  • Communicate regularly with parents via email, telephone and parent-teacher conferences
  • Contribute to co-curricular programming for at least one activity per term
  • Participate in collaborative teams and committees and fulfill supervision duties, including some morning, evening and weekend events

About you

Skills and qualifications:

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed) or Bachelor’s Degree + Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) – Intermediate Phase
  • Qualified teacher with experience teaching Mathematics in Grades 4–7
  • SACE registered (please provide registration number and certificate in application)
  • Classroom experience teaching Mathematics in the Intermediate Phase
  • Experience and/or understanding of Cambridge curriculum objectives is advantageous
  • Ability to lead a classroom independently, with practical classroom experience
