THE ROLE
AMD is seeking a capable and motivated IC CAD engineer who has a deep understanding in both analog and digital design flows. The candidate will be responsible for trailblazing new tools and flow requirements, qualifying flow accuracy and support users across the silicon design team.
THE PERSON
Solid knowledge of industry standard tools and practices for both analog and digital design methodologies.
Strong working knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso platforms.
Proficient in physical design, STA, methodology scripts (Tcl), knowledge on Perl, Python.
Quality-oriented mindset with strong and effective communication skills and team spirit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and support new flow features around industry standard EDA tools and tools capabilities.
Conduct evaluations of tool quality, tune the flow to get optimal results from existing tools and support design flows.
Deploy flows to design teams, work with design teams to help them take full advantage of the flow.
Working closely with various stakeholders to evaluate tools and flows capabilities, and drive future improvements to meet AMD roadmap requirements.
Improving and maintaining the flow infrastructure and automation.
Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and customer support in a global multi-cultural work environment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Strong understanding of both analog and digital design flows and ability to demonstrate working knowledge of industry standard EDA tools from Cadence, Synopsys, or a similar.
Experience in developing and making tools improvements or new functions to meet advanced, or unique design requirements.
Experience in supporting CAD flows for advanced process technology nodes, multi-gigahertz analog and digital designs.
Experience with flow automation, Linux, and scripting programming skills (Perl, Tcl and/or Python).
Experience with load sharing facilities (e.g. LSF) and version control software (e.g. Perforce).
Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
Highly motivated, self-starter with good interpersonal skills.
Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication abilities, with the ability to contribute to company-wide consensus on design flows and tools.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering.
