The Global Payment team of ByteDance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms including TikTok.

• Design and develop data-driven fraud detection programs and models aligned with the company's risk strategy and roadmap, focusing on domains such as stolen cards and account takeovers.
• Conduct end-to-end fraud investigations by leveraging large datasets to identify anomalous and suspicious trends and resolve escalated issues across functional teams taking into consideration risk versus customer experience.
• Analyze disputed cardholder transactions using data analysis, statistical techniques and machine learning to ensure compliance with card scheme regulations and provide subject-matter expertise in payments risk.
• Build, monitor, and optimize fraud data models, dashboard, performance metrics to deliver clear and data-backed insights such as visualization or reports for strategic decision-making.
• Utilize advanced analytics, predictive modeling and programming to detect emerging fraud patterns and develop proactive detection mechanisms.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to transform raw and complex data into actionable insights to improve fraud detection accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Stay current with card scheme rules and regulatory changes, continuously refining data models and strategies accordingly.
• Contribute to the risk team on key projects/intiatives that enhance the overall fraud prevention and risk management framework.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
• Strong programming and data querying languages such as SQL and Python, with a strong ability to manipulate and analyze large-scale datasets.
• Hands-on experience in online payments, fraud or financial risk control
• Skilled in fraud analytics, risk modeling, or machine learning within the payments or fintech sector.
• Results-driven and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment that requires effective prioritization and a strong sense of ownership.
• Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization and work cross-functionally with engineering, product and risk.
• Proven ability to automate risk processes and build data models or dashboards to optimize the fraud detection and lifecycle management
• Strong accountability and ability to partner within a global risk and data science organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in fraud management, data science, or risk strategy, with deep understanding of payment systems and fraud rules.
• Hands-on experience developing fraud algorithms, anomaly detection, or supervised learning models.
• Exposure to multi-market or APAC risk management, with familiarity across diverse regulatory environments.
• Strong accountability and ability to partner within a global risk and data science organization.
