Nurse Manager – Lead with Purpose in a Ward-Based Setting
Are you a dynamic nursing professional with a passion for leadership and patient care? We’re looking for a Nurse Manager to lead and inspire a team of nurses and healthcare staff in delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a ward setting.
In this key leadership role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Department, ensuring smooth workflows, high clinical standards, and a supportive team environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Clinical & Patient Care Leadership
- Participate in case management rounds and family conferences to ensure patient needs are met and concerns are resolved.
- Supervise and mentor nurses and other care staff, ensuring quality, consistency, and compassion in every interaction.
- Take on “on-call” duties as needed to support patient care continuity.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for both staff and residents.
Team Development & Performance
- Appraise staff performance and provide coaching and guidance where needed.
- Play a key teaching and resource role in clinical practice to build team capabilities.
- Lead monthly ward meetings and promote open, constructive communication.
Quality & Compliance
- Track and compile incident and infection statistics.
- Ensure accuracy in daily in-patient census and proper documentation.
- Support the team in emergency situations and uphold high safety standards.
Administrative & Operational Oversight
- Maintain staff discipline, monitor attendance and punctuality, and uphold professional standards.
- Conduct performance reviews and promote staff wellness and continuous education.
- Manage annual inventory of equipment and support logistics when needed.
- Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and excellence within the team.
Community & Organizational Engagement
- Represent the ward in organizational meetings and committee work.
- Support training initiatives and help set up relevant resources.
- Participate in volunteering activities and other assigned duties as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Nursing recognized by the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB), with registration as a Registered Nurse
- Ideally 5+ years of nursing experience in an inpatient ward setting, including a leadership/supervisory role
- Prior experience in an acute or community hospital is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
