Resident Engineer
Job summary
A construction firm in Singapore is seeking a Resident Engineer to monitor construction works and ensure compliance with specifications. Candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience and a degree in Civil & Structural Engineering. Responsibilities include coordinating contractors and maintaining records. This role is crucial for ensuring timely and safe completion of major projects.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of relevant experience as a Resident Engineer.
- Trained in Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA).
- Preferably possess a valid Class 3 Singapore driving license.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and report on progress of works.
- Ensure records are timely updated and properly kept.
- Resolve contractor's queries and coordinate works.

- To monitor and report on the progress of works
- To ensure that records of all civil and structural engineering works, including records of tests, defect rectification, inspections, work progress, material and equipment on site, safety, etc, are timely updated and properly kept
- To ensure that the building and its related works are constructed in accordance with Drawings and Specifications and the Building Control Act and Regulations
- To carry out checks on striking of formwork, re-props and removal of prop
- To resolve contractor's queries and coordinate the works of the main contractor and other contractors on site
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience as a RE. of which at least three (3) years shall be in supervision of works similar in nature to major construction works listed in the Project Brief such as in buildings, civil pavement works
- Degree C&S Engineering from a University accredited by the Professional Engineers Board, Singapore;
- Trained and possessed knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA)
- Competence in Microsoft Project, Words, Excel and PowerPoint and/or AutoCAD
- Preferably Possess a valid Class 3 (preferably manual gear) Singapore state driving license
