What you will be working on:
Would you like to apply data science or GIS skills in solving the next generation of traffic and road operational challenges in Singapore?
As a Data Engineer in Integrated Operations & Technology (IO&T) team, you will help shape Singapore’s vehicular transport environment now and for future generations. This role combines geospatial, data engineering and ops-tech integration skills to enhance the reliability, performance and sustainability of our road network. You will be part of a core team of GIS professionals, data engineers and data analysts who are building the next generation of user applications and data models.
You will be working closely with various teams both within LTA and across Government Agencies. Within LTA, you would have the opportunity to work with teams with cross-cutting domains (systems development, data analytics, data engineering, GIS systems, software development and product management) to understand business requirements, data collection and governance, creating processed data and data models, as well as helping to design user centric applications.
You will also collaborate with industry partners and academia to explore technologies to transform the way we work. You are required to keep abreast of advancements in smart technologies, big data, GIS and other intelligent tools to enhance traffic operations and road asset management practices.
This position is based in Singapore
What we are looking for:
We are seeking a person who has deep skills in data science and is interested to work on data engineering, data governance and management and GIS. Prior work in the transport domain is not required.
Knowledge in Computer Science, Geography or Engineering with an analytics / GIS specialisation.
You have at least 2 years of experience in data engineering / analytics or GIS or other related work. Those with good experience can be considered for senior positions
You are familiar with relational databases and have some hands-on experience coding in SQL or you are familiar with ArcGIS geodatabases and functions.
You are proficient in one or more of the programming languages such as Python or R
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Experience in traffic engineering, transport analytics or data modelling techniques
Experience in processing big data or running geoprocessing using scripts
Fresh graduates with a strong passion for modelling, are welcome to apply
