School Counsellor
Job summary
An educational institution in Singapore is seeking a Counsellor to support students' emotional and social development. The ideal candidate must have a degree in Counselling, professional fluency in Korean, and experience in educational counselling. Responsibilities include conducting counselling sessions, drafting reports in Korean, and collaborating with parents and teachers to support students facing challenges.
Qualifications
- Professional level of fluency in Korean required.
- Experience in counselling children and youths in educational settings.
- Must be able to conduct counselling sessions and draft reports in Korean.
Responsibilities
- Provide counselling support to students facing emotional and social challenges.
- Identify students' social and emotional concerns through observation and sessions.
- Consult with school personnel and parents to assist students.
Skills
Education
- Degree in Counselling or equivalent
- Capable of conducting counselling in Korean only
- Able to draft reports in Korean and deliver verbal reports in Korean
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Korean language
- Must be able to provide counselling and create reports for documentation purposes in the Korean language
- Provides counselling, emotional and social support to students who are facing challenges in their developments
- Identifies the areas of social or emotional concerns of students by observable behaviours or through counselling sessions
- Assists in planning and implementing guidance programs
- Conducts consultations to school personnel, teachers and parents to discuss how they can best provide assistance to these students
- Experience in educating and/or counselling work involving children and youths in schools and educational organisations
- Job experience in employee of Korean Ministry of Education preferred
- Professional level of fluency in Korean in required
