Job description
We are representing our client in the global technology and engineering space to search for an experienced Export Control Manager to complement the existing team.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor import/export policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with import/export requirements, in accordance with Singapore Customs Act and U.S. Export Control Regulations.
- Support end-user undertakings and address queries raised by internal customers related to these undertakings.
- Supervise and guide business units on regulatory changes and compliance matters, including adherence to license conditions imposed by exporting countries.
- Develop best practices to enable visibility of all export-controlled items within the company, maintaining records of related documents such as acquisitions and dispositions.
- Prepare accurate import/export documentation and maintain comprehensive records for internal and external audits.
- Participate in planning and supporting export compliance training seminars and initiatives.
- Advise internal stakeholders on clearance procedures for foreign visitors and participation in international exhibitions.
- Lead continuous improvement projects in Export Control areas.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in export controls and defense technology systems, preferably in defense, military, or highly regulated tech industries.
- Good knowledge of the Singapore Strategic Goods (Control) Act; familiarity with U.S. Export Control Regulations (ITAR, EAR) is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and planning abilities to proactively address issues and develop solutions.
