Job Description

Job Description:

• Responsible for the overall administrative and technical operations of the laboratory; maintaining impartiality and confidentiality of data.
• Specifies and/or approved all methodologies used.
• Implement good laboratory practices by providing instruction and training as needed, develop work plans and procedures, and require that these be followed in all day-to-day operations.
• Assigns only competent personnel to complete tests.
• Attests, by signature, to the validity of all laboratory tests and reports.
• Ensures continued accreditation of the laboratory.
• Responsible for consistent and efficient laboratory operation and processes in consistent manner in close coordination with QA and as per set specifications.
• Implement approved tests plans and ensure optimum capacity utilization of the laboratory.
• Preparation of Test Plan/Test Procedure/Specification Sheet / Standard in accordance with customer planning. Scheduling test activities and ensuring preventive maintenance of all machines / equipment.
• Recording stoppages, daily exceptions of non-performing equipment.
• Responsible for unloading and handling, storage and control laboratory equipment. Ensure control of process to enable environmental conditions within specified requirements and meet company’s threshold limits.
• Responsible for consistent and safe laboratory operation and report dispatches with ensuring compliances with applicable standard/specification/procedures. Identification of risk and opportunities, setting improvement objectives, calibration instruction procedures and monitoring the performance of objectives,
• upkeeping quality management system records to demonstrate performance. Responsible for ensuring evaluating quality of purchase material for reprocessing.
• Responsible for ensuring continuing suitability and effectiveness of Quality Management System in department.
• Provides suitable document control measures for documents issued by the laboratory as well as for documents received from other departments.
• Identifies the occurrence of departures from the laboratory quality management system or from the procedures in performing tests and calibrations, and in initiating preventive actions in order to prevent or minimize such departures.
• Identifies training needs of the laboratory personnel. Assists the department head in complying with the calibration laboratory quality management system.
• Creates and maintains policies, procedures and work instructions consistent with the calibration laboratory quality management system.
• Maintains the standard system for calibration of instruments and test equipment.
• Reviews and assesses calibration records, data and certificates.
• Provides technical support to all staff in the calibration laboratory.
• Review and sign the calibration certificates.
• Checks documents, procedures and record as per ISO standard. Control and checking of documents, quality manual and procedures.

Work Experience

Minimum 7 years’ experience; mainly in calibration process, and particulars in:

1. Calibration of electrical parameters, temperature, pressure & dimensions.

2. Instrumentation scheme, equipment repair, technical oriented in testing of electrical

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Skills:

Problem solving and analytical ability, leadership, technical competency, computer literate, driving. Internal auditor as per ISO 17025 reference, Metrology awareness.

Knowledgeable on different ISO standards like ASTM, IEC, ANSI, etc. and preparing technical reports.

BS/BE/BTech Electrical or Electronics Engineering
