About the Role
MCTS is seeking a Senior Big Data Analyst to deliver advanced analytics that strengthen decision‑making and improve organizational performance. In this role, you will work with multi‑source datasets (including external/governmental entities), enhance data quality, automate repeatable analytics, and develop executive dashboards and reports. You will translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership while supporting the organization’s data‑sharing and integration objectives under strong governance, compliance, and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, consolidate, and document data from multiple external sources, including government and regulatory entities, ensuring consistent data definitions and traceability.
- Clean and improve data quality by building validation rules, identifying anomalies and missing values, and recommending corrective actions.
- Design and execute advanced analytics (descriptive, diagnostic, and when needed predictive/prescriptive) using Python or R, applying appropriate statistical methods.
- Develop executive dashboards and performance reporting in Power BI and/or Tableau, including KPIs, trends, drill‑down capabilities, and interpretation notes.
- Deliver data‑driven recommendations to support initiatives and projects, clearly communicating expected impact, risks, constraints, and assumptions.
- Contribute to improving data flows and integration between entities by identifying gaps and working with technical teams to implement enhancements (current state relies on file‑based exchange).
- Automate analytics and reporting through reusable scripts and templates to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security requirements, including privacy, data classification, and access controls for sensitive data.
- Present insights to senior stakeholders in non‑technical, executive‑ready narratives, including scenarios and limitations of analysis.
- Maintain thorough documentation of analytical work, methodologies, business rules, models, and KPI definitions to support auditability and continuity.
- Support monthly delivery cycles and reporting commitments while managing multiple parallel requests and outputs.

Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in data analytics, big data analytics, and/or business intelligence.
- Strong proficiency in Python or R for analysis and statistical modeling, with practical experience using common analytics libraries.
- Advanced experience building executive dashboards and KPIs using Power BI and/or Tableau.
- Proven experience improving data quality, including validation rules, anomaly detection, and remediation recommendations.
- Experience working in multi‑entity data environments with data sharing, integration, and governance considerations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Practical experience using GIS and geospatial analytics tools (e.g., ArcGIS and/or QGIS).
- Ability to pass required security screening/background verification.
- Preferred: Training or certifications in Business Intelligence, Applied Statistics/Data Science, Data Governance/Data Management, Data Privacy/Information Security, and stakeholder management/presentation skills.
- Experience designing executive‑level visual storytelling (UX/storytelling) that highlights key messages and supports decision‑making.
- Exposure to improving interoperability and integration approaches between organizations.
