Specialized and Unit-Specific Clinical Duties (Summary of Key Responsibilities)
The Staff Nurse performs extensive specialized duties depending on the assigned unit:
- - Psychiatry: Conduct initial nursing and risk assessments, mental state examinations, risk assessment and management of potentially aggressive/violent patients, and coordinate treatment planning.
- - Intensive Care Services (ICS): Provide individualized total nursing care, assist physicians for invasive/non-invasive bedside procedures, ensure ICCA programs and critical care scoring are documented, and ensure specialized equipment is functioning.
- - Rapid Response Team (RRT/MedEvac): Respond timely to RRT calls, ensure clinical data and emergency drugs are available, assist with intubations/extubations, and monitor mobile patients' condition and treatment.
- - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU): Assist in advanced resuscitation, assess/treat critically ill children, and ensure safe calculation and titration of complex IV infusions (Inotropes, Sedations, PCA).
- - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU): Attend high risk deliveries as Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), participate in stabilization/transfer of critically sick neonates, and administer/maintain vasoactive medication/narcotics.
- - Obstetrics and Gynecology: Coordinate planning/treatment, provide ante-natal/post-natal care, administer initial vaccines and obtain newborn identification.
- - Operating Theatre (Scrub/Circulating): Prepare instrument sets, maintain sterility, perform instrument/swab counts audibly, assist with patient positioning, and conduct Time-Out.
- - Endoscopy Nurse: Provide optimum care, assist physicians in procedures (Bronchoscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP, Gastroscopy, PEG Placement), and ensure patients are stabilized post-sedation.
- - Emergency Room Nurse: Coordinate implementation of Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS), specialize in assessing/stabilizing trauma and illnesses, and make quick/accurate assessments including mental health conditions.
- - Chemotherapy (CDU/Adult/Pediatric): Thoroughly assess patient suitability, validate prescriptions, administer chemotherapy, manage complications, and educate patients on Fulfusor Pumps/CVAD care.
- - Hemodialysis/Peritoneal Dialysis: Prepare the delivery system/dialyzer, conduct pre/intra/post-patient assessment and monitoring for hemodialysis. Assess capability for peritoneal dialysis at home, perform initial flushing of Tenhoff catheter, and conduct regular follow-up.
Required Documents

- - Education Certificates: Bachelor's Degree and Post-graduate (if any).
- - License of Practice: Must be valid in the country of origin, and a Saudi Council license as a specialist.
- - Prometric Exam: If it is your first time in the Kingdom, a prometric exam must be provided.
- - Re-classification: Saudi Council re-classification as a specialist can be processed while waiting for deployment.
- - Experience Certificates: Necessary as stated in the CV.

- - BLS: Required for all candidates.
- - Specialty Certifications: ACLS, NRP, PALS, ATLS (as per specialty).

- - Private sector: Must be stamped by the Chamber of Commerce.
- - Government hospitals: Must be stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Salary Details:
- - Staff Nurse 1: Starts with 6,000 SR basic salary.
- - Staff Nurse 2: Starts with 4,700 SR.
- - Increment: 3% for every 2 years experience, for a maximum of 10 years.
- Based on Nursing Areas (35%, 18%, or 4% of basic salary).
