The Paint Shop Maintenance Planner is responsible to ensure the reliability, availability, and efficiency of paint shop equipment and facilities by developing and executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans. Maintenance Planning Engineer plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, optimizing maintenance resources, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the paint shop.

You Will:

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for all paint shop equipment (e.g., robots, ovens, booths, conveyors, pumps)
  • Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations
  • Plan and track predictive maintenance activities using condition monitoring tools and data

Work Order Management

  • Create, assign, and close work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and labor hours

Spare Parts & Inventory

  • Monitor spare parts inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to ensure availability of critical components
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance cost and availability

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide technical support during equipment breakdowns and major repairs
  • Analyze root causes of recurring failures and recommend long-term solutions
  • Participate in Kaizen, TPM, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs
  • Analyze maintenance KPIs (MTTR, MTBF, OEE) and implement improvement actions

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory compliance.

You Bring:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance planning, preferably in an automotive or industrial paint shop environment.
  • Proficiency in CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, Infor EAM).
  • Strong understanding of paint shop processes and equipment.
  • Knowledge of TPM, Lean, and Six Sigma principles is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with robotic painting systems (e.g., ABB, FANUC).
  • Familiarity with HVAC, air handling, and filtration systems used in paint shops.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
