Job description
Job Purpose

Responsible for performing, directing, and supervising activities of the fire station on an assigned shift or general including fire suppression, emergency rescue, inspection, investigation, training, and support functions.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to alarms, assumes command until relieved by a superior officer, and directs assigned personnel at the scene of emergencies involving fire, all types of accidents, gas leaks, flooded structures, hazardous materials, and lifesaving and rescue procedures.
  • Plans for operational required training
  • Conduct Fire Safety Training for stakeholder e.g. PDC, Huta, Aecom, NCT, Government Agencies etc.
  • Preparation of reports e.g. Operational, Incident, Investigation etc.
  • Formulation of work plans, programs, and long-range strategic planning e.g. SOP, Training Etc…
  • Enforcement of Department policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Participate in fire risk assessment for KAP.
  • Places fire hoses, sets ladders, operates fire streams, ventilates and enters burning structures to extinguish fire and perform rescue services.
  • Operates pneumatic and auxiliary equipment such as generators and pumps.
  • Supervises the maintenance of quarters, grounds, buildings, apparatus, equipment and hydrants.
  • Maintains discipline at fire station and Emergency scene
  • Studies and keeps up to date on Port geography, department rules, regulations, procedures and other training and job related material.
  • In the event of emergency, operational requirement may be called in from off duty to work an extended period of time (as per law).
  • May be assigned responsibility for a department-wide program.
  • Maintains records and prepares reports as required.
Job Requirements
Education & Certifications
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Firefighter II Certification (NFPA-1001).
  • Fire Officer I Certification and/or a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a fire department.
  • Valid KSA driver’s license or an international equivalent.
  • Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid.
  • Fire Officer Certification, including:
  • NFPA 1001 Firefighter I & II
  • NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Certification
  • Fire Investigator Certification.
Experience & Skills
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in fire service.
  • Proficient in basic firefighting techniques and emergency response procedures.
  • Experienced in directing fire and emergency scenes, ensuring effective coordination and leadership.
  • Skill in operating fire suppression pumper and aerial apparatus.
  • Adept at operating, maintaining, and performing minor repairs on fire department equipment and tools.
  • Proficient in using and maintaining voice radio communication systems for efficient emergency response.
  • Competent in selecting and applying appropriate emergency treatments using specialized equipment and apparatus.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess fire and emergency situations, determining the most effective course of action.
  • Excellent communication skills for team coordination and emergency management.
  • Strong supervisory skills for managing firefighting operations effectively.
  • Advanced in English (written and verbal).
