Power BI Administration:
- Manage and administer the Power BI service, including workspaces, datasets, reports, and dashboards.
- Monitor and optimize Power BI performance, including data refresh schedules and query performance.
- Implement and enforce security policies, including row-level security (RLS) and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI reports, data sources, and gateways.
- Collaborate with business users to design and deploy Power BI solutions that meet organizational needs.
- Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and updates, and implement best practices.
SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) Administration:
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SSIS.
- Monitor and optimize SSIS package performance and troubleshoot failures.
- Manage SSIS catalog, deployments, and scheduling of packages.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy by implementing data validation and error handling mechanisms.
- Collaborate with database administrators and developers to integrate SSIS with other systems.
SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) Administration:
- Administer and maintain SSAS instances, including multidimensional and tabular models.
- Optimize SSAS cube performance, including partitioning, aggregations, and processing schedules.
- Implement and manage security roles and permissions within SSAS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SSAS processing, queries, and connectivity.
- Work with data architects and analysts to design and deploy SSAS solutions.
General Responsibilities:
- Monitor system health, performance, and availability of BI tools and services.
- Perform regular backups, updates, and patches for BI tools and related systems.
- Document processes, configurations, and best practices for BI administration.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between BI tools and business objectives.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in BI and data analytics.
- Building Analysis Services reporting models
- Migrating Self‑Service Reports From Oracle BI and Tableau To Power BI Self‑service
- Migrate Reports and Dashboards from oracle BI to Power BI.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in administering and managing Power BI, SSIS, and SSAS.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and BI concepts.
- Experience with SQL Server, including T‑SQL scripting and database administration.
- Familiarity with data visualization best practices and tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Power BI administration, including Power BI Service and Power BI Report Server.
- Expertise in SSIS package development, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of SSAS, including cube design, processing, and optimization.
- Experience with data modeling, DAX, and MDX.
- Knowledge of data gateways, dataflows, and Power Query.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation tasks.
