Job description

Huntsman Corporation is now looking for a dynamic individual as a Manager, Learning & Development – South Asia.

The ideal candidate will be located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As a Manager, Learning & Development – South Asia you will:
  1. Leadership Development Programs – manage nomination process for South Asia region in partnership with Human Resources Business Partners, manage annual plan for leadership development programs in the South Asia region.
  2. Instructor Led Program Design and Delivery – Design and facilitation of learning programs related to personal effectiveness, communication, and leadership, which will include a combination of in-person and virtual delivery. Manage training coordination and logistics to support program delivery.
  3. Global Business Services Learning Roadmap – Engage key stakeholders, subject matter experts and process owners to manage the Global Business Services learning roadmap for Kuala Lumpur.
  4. Global Business Services Learning Programs – Provide advisory support for functional skills training (e.g. continuous improvement, data analytics, internal controls).
  5. Internal client management – Engage with Regional HRBPs and key stakeholders to short- and medium-term organizational requirements, establish priorities for learning and development activities, and to define desired outcomes.
  6. Learning Management System (LMS) – Collaborate with the HRIS / HRSSC teams to manage e-learning content assignment and reporting.
  7. Vendor Management – Serve as the interface with external vendors, manage external vendor invoicing and expenses with learning and development programs.
  8. Assessments – Manage requests for 360 feedback assessments and third-party leadership assessments, which will include providing support to HR Business Partners and Leaders.
  9. Budget – Manage South Asia Learning & Development budget.
What skills and experiences are we looking for?
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field.
  2. 10+ years of HR experience, which includes 3+ years of experience in Learning and Development. Prior experience as an HR Business Partner is a plus.
  3. Prior experience facilitating training both in person and virtually required. Prior experience with delivering training to both leaders and individual contributors strongly preferred. Fluency in English required.
  4. Prior experience working for a multi-national company required, prior experience working for a publicly traded US company is a plus.
  5. Prior experience facilitating team effectiveness and strategic planning workshops strongly desired.
  6. Certification in assessments (DiSC, Korn Ferry) and learning programs (Frankly Covey, Situational Leadership) strongly desired.
  7. Prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is a plus.
  8. Prior experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) required, experience with Workday Learning is a plus.
  9. Facilitation – Advanced level facilitation skills with delivering training to groups, both in person and virtually. Able to effectively engage the participant group. Leverages prior experience in providing relevant scenarios and examples with application of the training content.
  10. Communicates Effectively – Develops and delivers communication in a manner which provides a clear understanding to the targeted audience. Keeps stakeholders informed and conveys information clearly, concisely, and professionally when speaking or writing.
  11. Relationship Management – Ability to build trust and develop strong relationships with associates at all levels of the organization from individual contributors to senior leaders.
  12. Vendor Engagement & Management – Participates in the selection of external consultants to deliver training. Ensures that programs meet business objectives and requirements, monitors outcomes, and takes appropriate remedial action with external vendors when needed.
  13. Costing and Budgeting – Uses knowledge and skills in working independently to review proposals from external vendors. Possesses analytical skills necessary to quantify different vendor options and provide recommendations. Able to review expenses to prepare forecast and budget.
  14. Planning and Organizing – Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently with planning, organizing, and prioritizing Learning and Development activities to meet business objectives. Demonstrates ability to develop high quality programs which add value to the organization and execute them in a pragmatic manner based on the needs of the organization.
  15. Managing Change and Ambiguity – Ability to adapt to change and perform well in an ambiguous environment.
  16. Analyzing Alternatives and Recommending Solutions – Works at an advanced level to analyze potential solutions and create recommendations based on the expected benefits, costs, and overall value of the solution. Typically works independently to develop solutions.
  17. Optimizing Work Processes & Continuous Improvement – Knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done with a focus on continuous improvement. Ability to offer ideas and solutions on how to improve L&D processes and program, which includes both major and subtle ways to optimize processes. Self-motivated and driven to take necessary action to address root cause and ensure problems do not reoccur.
