UCT is seeking a talented Supplier Quality Engineer III to join us in Malaysia.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage customer quality issues.
- Define and implement production part qualification requirements based on thorough understanding of customer quality requirements.
- Report to the Site Quality Head and support operations to understand customer requirements.
- Manage customer audits, including scheduling, leading, follow-up, and closure of all audit actions.
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer compliance, product quality, and process quality issues, partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations management.
Goals and Objectives:
- Meet or exceed all goals related to Customer Quality Scorecards.
- Ensure compliance with Customer QMS & technical audits and complete action plans.
- Manage customer-reported defects effectively using 8D problem-solving and meet cycle-time metrics.
- Interface with customers regarding material purges, recalls, and issues.
- Drive problem-solving (8D) on quality escapes impacting the customer.
- Create presentations and action plans for customer and internal communication.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Skills in preventive quality methods, statistical data analysis, critical thinking, structured problem solving (8D), metrics utilization, and process improvement.
- Experience managing customer quality issues and setting up product and process quality control for assembly lines.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, product, process, and system audits.
- Strong communication, leadership, and management skills.
- Knowledge of Process FMEA, SPC, and Measurement System Analysis.
- Ability to read technical drawings and knowledge of GD&T.
- Knowledge of basic statistics and data analysis for continuous improvement.
Educational and Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline; Mechanical engineering background is a plus.
- Registered ISO 9001 auditor experience is a plus.
Experience Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in functional management, compliance engineering, operations, quality, or reliability.
- Experience with ISO 9001 standards, quality and manufacturing systems, business process improvement tools, and problem solving.
- Experience managing critical customer communications.
- Experience with Lean, 6S, zero defect manufacturing, inspection methods, and tools.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
