Requirements
  • Must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Paediatric Nursing, or related field.
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers (aged 3 months – 3 years) in a licensed childcare or nursery environment is preferred.
  • Fresh graduates in Early Childhood Education are encouraged to apply (training will be provided).
  • Must have a valid medical certificate and be physically fit to handle young children.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of child development milestones from birth to 3 years.
  • Knowledge of safe sleep, feeding, diapering, and hygiene practices for infants and toddlers.
  • Ability to prepare milk, handle feeding schedules, and maintain accurate daily logs.
  • Demonstrate patience, gentleness, and empathy when caring for babies and toddlers.
  • Able to engage children in age‑appropriate sensory, motor, and language play experiences.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and a nurturing environment in accordance with TASKA and JKM health regulations.
  • Able to identify early signs of illness or developmental concern and report promptly.
  • Good teamwork and communication with co‑workers and parents.
  • Able to handle emergencies calmly and responsibly.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage.

Responsibilities
Learning & Curriculum Implementation
  • Plan and implement play‑based, hands‑on learning experiences that support holistic development in line with Kurikulum Asuhan dan Permata (KAP).
  • Design activities that promote sensory exploration, curiosity, communication, motor, and social‑emotional development.
  • Introduce pre‑literacy concepts through Jolly Phonics songs, rhymes, and sound awareness suitable for 2–3‑year‑olds.
  • Support early numeracy through playful counting, sorting, and problem‑solving experiences.
  • Foster children’s independence through daily routines (feeding, washing, dressing, and tidying up).
  • Observe, document, and assess each child’s developmental milestones according to KAP domains.
Environment & Care
  • Create a safe, clean, and nurturing environment that encourages exploration and hands‑on play.
  • Maintain classroom materials, sensory bins, and learning corners following KAP play‑based zone guidelines.
  • Ensure a balance between structured and unstructured play, including outdoor and indoor experiences.
  • Maintain accurate records of children’s routines (feeding, napping, diapering, learning observations).
  • Follow strict health, hygiene and safety procedures at all times.
Relationships & Communication
  • Build strong, caring, and respectful relationships with children to establish trust and emotional security.
  • Communicate daily with parents regarding each child’s wellbeing, progress and milestones.
  • Work collaboratively with co‑teachers, assistants, and management to plan and review curriculum.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development related to play‑based learning, literacy and KAP standards.
Professional Practice
  • Model professionalism, patience and empathy at all times.
  • Continuously reflect and improve teaching methods to align with Funscape’s philosophy and the Science of Reading principles.
  • Demonstrate initiative in classroom set‑up, material preparation, and documentation of children’s learning.
