Responsibilities

• Provide technical and design leadership across high impact projects that directly impact business goals.
• Set strategic technical directions for your engineering team.
• Partner with the designers and product managers to create an engaging and transparent customer experience.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables as a highly hands on engineer.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large scale software solutions.
• Influence and mentor a distributed set of engineers

Qualifications and Job Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Experience building scaled web‑based applications with deep understanding of business goals.
• Exceptional technical design and technical communication skills.
• Strong proficiency with one or more programming languages (Ruby on Rails/React)
• Strong foundations in UI development and product security and or DevOps is helpful.
• Able to negotiate trade offs between product and engineering priorities to maximize the business value of engineering effort.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Very collaborative environment and participation is important.
• Prior experience working for a startup is helpful.
• A formal degree in computer science is helpful, but we have people working in this role with only a high school diploma and others with PhDs. We care more about what you can deliver.
• Strong foundations in UI development and product security and or DevOps is helpful.
