General Role
The Sales Manager of Mexico is responsible for implementing the local sales strategy in alignment with Vilmorin-Mikado’s global guidelines. This role leads the Sales Team of Mexico to drive growth in market share and customer base, ensuring successful product introductions, and delivering high levels of customer satisfaction, overseeing day-to-day sales activities, risks, and performance of the commercial team. The Sales Manager is accountable for all key accounts in Mexico, serving as a decision-maker and escalation point for Sales Representatives when refining customer strategies or making tactical adjustments. This position plays a central role in executing the commercial strategy and strengthening the company’s position within the vegetable seed industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Define together with the Subsidiary Manager, the commercial strategy tailored to the Mexico market.
- Define annual goals and supervise action plans and performance for the Sales Representatives team.
- Lead sales force and coordinate sales and marketing campaigns.
- Ensure accurate sales forecasting and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) adoptions (customer visits, sales effectiveness actions, sales campaigns, etc).
- Organize local promotional events, field days and trade shows in coordination with the team.
- Coach and develop sales team performance in coordination with the Subsidiary Manager.
- Develop and implement the regional sales strategy, aligning with business unit goals to increase profitability and market share, in collaboration with the Subsidiary Manager.
- Act as the responsible lead for all key accounts in Mexico, managing relationships, negotiations, strategic plans, and growth initiatives.
- Serve as a direct interface with major customers, dealers, and industry stakeholders, and be present in all strategic annual meetings with key accounts.
- Establish and manage budgets for assigned territories and the sales team together with the Subsidiary Manager.
- Define and monitor regional pricing policy in coordination with the Subsidiary Manager.
- Contribute to demand planning by proposing regional seed production volumes.
- Act as a champion and internal expert on key digital tools, including ERP systems, CRM, and demand planning platforms like FUTURMASTER.
- Collaborate closely with Product Development Managers to stay informed of competitor products, trial results, and pipeline innovation and discuss the customer strategy for new products.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Plant Science, Business, or a related field is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in agriculture within a commercial role.
- Strong knowledge of the vegetable seed market of Mexico.
- Proven experience in key account management.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Availability and willingness for frequent regional and international travel.
