A leading AI governance firm based in Veracruz is seeking a Research Assistant to work with senior experts in AI governance and international law. The ideal candidate will conduct advanced legal research, maintain organized files, and produce structured reports. Applicants should possess strong analytical skills, a relevant degree, and demonstrated experience in legal or policy research in AI. Excellent written English and proficiency in an additional language are essential. The position may offer full-time or part-time options.

The Research Assistant will work closely with a senior scholar–practitioner in AI governance and international law, supporting high-level research, writing, and project coordination across academic, policy, and multilateral workstreams.
The role requires exceptional analytical rigor, writing skills, discretion, and reliability; only highly qualified candidates with proven experience in these areas should apply.
Conduct advanced legal and policy research on topics related to AI regulation, international law, and global governance, producing well-structured memos and background notes.
Maintain organised research files, bibliographies, and document workflows; track deadlines across multiple projects and ensure timely delivery.
MA, MSc, MPP, or PhD-track) in law, international relations, public policy, STS, or a closely related field.
Qualified lawyer in at least one jurisdiction.
Demonstrated experience (not just coursework) in legal / policy AI research and writing: at least one substantial paper, report, or publication you can share.
Excellent written and spoken English; ability to draft polished, publication-ready text with minimal supervision.
Strong command of at least one additional language, with preference for Spanish; French or another language is a plus.
Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with debates on AI governance or digital regulation.
Prior experience in an international, governmental, or research institution.
