A global manufacturing leader is seeking a Production Manager to oversee all operations at the Piedras Negras site. This role involves leading a team to ensure safety compliance while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline and at least 5 years of operations experience. Fluency in English and strong leadership skills in a manufacturing environment are essential. The position is key to fostering collaboration and delivering results aligned with corporate goals.

Position Overview

The Production Manager oversees all production operations at the Piedras Negras site, reporting to the Plant Manager. This role leads supervisors and field experts to build a best‑in‑class culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational discipline. It ensures customer requirements are met while driving process improvement and collaborating with regional and global teams to elevate site performance.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Drive safety as a core value and ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Lead continuous improvement in housekeeping and 5S practices
  • Mentor and develop production operations and field experts to build an engaged workforce
  • Create and implement vision and strategy for production operations aligned with site and corporate goals
  • Utilize management systems to measure and improve production performance
  • Set and maintain standards for on‑time delivery of quality products
  • Control costs through operational and capital budget management and continuous improvement projects
  • Build strong relationships with internal partners (commercial, marketing, operations, supply chain, HR, Finance, R&D)
  • Facilitate collaboration and manage stakeholder expectations to deliver results on time
  • Demonstrate leadership in innovation, accountability, performance excellence, change management, customer focus, and teamwork
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive operations experience with proven success
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to prioritize and align organizational goals
  • Effective coach, communicator, and collaborator with internal and external partners
  • Ability to manage conflict and elevate issues appropriately
  • Fluent in English
Preferred Requirements
  • Expertise in managing significant change within manufacturing environments
  • Experience in organizational development and team building
  • Proven success in change management initiatives
  • Process Safety Management experience
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt)
  • Exposure to continuous improvement techniques (TQM, DMAIC, FMEA, Lean, 5S, Value Stream Mapping)
  • Experience leading in a union environment
  • MBA in Operations Management, Finance, or Accounting
