WHAT DOES A OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE SPECIALIST DOES?

The Operational Excellence Specialist will align and drive Operational Excellence strategies that achieve efficiency, productivity, cost reduction, and continuous improvement goals in operational areas through Lean Manufacturing tools, leadership of improvement projects, and development of internal capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the effective implementation and execution of the pillars of Operational Excellence.
  • Identify gaps and ensure that improvement processes are aligned with the plant's strategic objectives.
  • Execute operational excellence projects with a measurable impact on OEE, costs, waste, and productivity.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives in processes, products, and operating systems.
  • Develop and facilitate training sessions to strengthen the culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage and promote forums to showcase successful projects and initiatives within the plant.
  • Consolidate Lean Manufacturing technical tools such as 5S, SMED, Kaizen, VSM, among others.
  • Monitor the execution of the Operational Excellence Master Plan.
  • Promote local, regional, or global benchmarking forums with other operations to share and adopt best practices.

SKILLS

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY:

  • University degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.
  • Experience:
  • • 3–5 years of experience in similar roles within industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • • Proven participation in continuous improvement projects or Lean/TPM implementation.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • • Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, SMED, TPM, A3, VSM, etc.).
  • • Problem-solving methodology (PDCA, DMAIC).
  • • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Analytical thinking and results-orientation.
  • • Leadership and influence without authority.
  • • Effective communication and organizational impact.
  • • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • • Adaptability and willingness to continuously learn.
