A leading provider of innovative charging solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of electro-mechanical products for high-volume production. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and have over 10 years of industry experience. Responsibilities include creating CAD models, leading prototype development, and collaborating cross-functionally to meet customer requirements. This role may require travel up to 20%.

Formación

  • 10+ years of industry experience with a proven track record of mechanical engineering and product design.
  • Practicing knowledge of industrial metal enclosures and injection-molded plastics.
  • Strong tolerance stacks and GD&T knowledge.
  • Experience in design requirements for regulatory compliance (UL, CE, etc.) is a plus.

About The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the design and development of electro-mechanical products for high-volume production. In this role, you will create and maintain detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design issues, and ensure that products meet customer requirements and industry standards. You will also lead prototype development and oversee design verification and validation testing, while working closely with suppliers to optimize performance and manufacturability.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electro-mechanical products for high-volume production
  • Create and maintain design documentation, including 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and specifications
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve design issues
  • Analyze and evaluate designs to ensure they meet customer requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulations
  • Lead the development of prototypes and conduct design verification and validation testing
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop components and assemblies for optimal performance and manufacturability
  • Follow ISO 14001/9001, IATF 16949 processes, as required.
  • Travel as required - up to 20%
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of industry experience with a proven track record of mechanical engineering and product design
  • Practicing knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including industrial metal enclosures, injection-molded plastics, overmolding, stamped metal components, and machined metal components
  • Strong CATIA V5 design experience (3D and drawing)
  • Strong tolerance stacks and GD&T knowledge
  • Experience in design requirements for regulatory compliance (UL, CE, NEC, etc.) is a plus
  • Good understanding of the APQP process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent English communication skills with a proactive and clear style
  • Experience working cross-functionally across an organization
  • Proven experience in creating engineering drawings in compliance with ASME standards
