The Mission of the Role:

The Hardware Engineer's primary mission is to administrate the lifecycle of electronic components on the database and perform compatibility analysis.

Key objectives of this Role:

  1. Alternate part analysis for shortages or End-Of-Life (EOL).
  2. Maintenance for specifications/spec report, components database, and master parts list.
  3. Reliability data/risk assessment reviews.

Key Performance Indicators:

  1. Product Development Cycle Time: This KPI measures the time taken from the initial design phase to the final product release. It assesses the efficiency of the hardware engineer in completing the development process within the established timelines.
  2. Design Quality and Reliability: This KPI focuses on the quality and reliability of the hardware designs. It includes metrics such as failure rates, mean time between failures (MTBF), and customer satisfaction ratings related to product performance.
  3. Design Efficiency: This KPI evaluates the engineer's ability to optimize hardware designs for efficiency and performance. It may include metrics like power consumption, thermal management, signal integrity, and overall system performance.
  4. Collaboration and Teamwork: Electrification projects usually involve cross-functional teams. This KPI assesses the engineer's ability to collaborate effectively with other team members, communicate ideas clearly, and contribute to the overall success of the project.
  5. Problem-solving and Troubleshooting: Hardware engineers often encounter technical challenges during the development process. This KPI evaluates the engineer's ability to identify and resolve hardware-related issues promptly and efficiently.
  6. Intellectual Property (IP) Creation: This KPI measures the engineer's contributions to intellectual property creation, such as patents or innovative hardware solutions. It highlights their ability to develop novel concepts and protect valuable technology developed within the organization.

Qualification, Experience, and Skills:

  1. 2-4 Years’ experience in a related position
  2. BS in Electrical Engineering (electronics)
  3. Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well
  4. Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity
  5. Inspired to perform well by the completion of tasks
  6. Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organization

These qualifications and deliverables are indicative and may vary based on the specific needs of the organization and the Hardware Engineer's role.

  2. Proactive results-oriented
  3. Special Requirements (i.e. overtime, travel, etc.): Limited travel may be required

Reporting Structure: The Hardware Engineer will report to the director of Hardware in Electrification.
