The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years’ experience managing a luxury resort, along with bilingual fluency in Spanish and English. Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita

Opening in early 2027, Omni Hotels & Resorts has officially broken ground and construction is well underway on Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita, the brand’s first luxury resort in Mexico. Staying true to the brand’s mission of creating elevated places and spaces that are inspired by a destination, the resort’s exterior and interiors will pay homage to the local culture with a contemporary twist.

This beachfront resort will feature 244 guest rooms and suites and two 4‑bedroom villas with sweeping views of the Bay of Banderas. Complementing the local area’s many attractions and activities, the resort will offer three original restaurant concepts, a destination spa with 14 treatment rooms, two retail shops, multiple pools including adult‑only and family‑friendly options, a state‑of‑the‑art indoor and outdoor fitness centre, and a kids club. Boasting over 27,000 square feet of meeting and event space, the Omni Pontoque will feature a 6,000 square foot ballroom, an open‑air pavilion, multiple event lawns and dedicated meeting rooms, all of which provide breathtaking ocean views.

In early 2027, Omni Hotels & Resorts will debut its first owned and managed property in Mexico: the Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita — a sanctuary of oceanfront beauty that will set a new benchmark for ultra‑luxury hospitality in the region. This extraordinary resort marks Omni’s arrival into the elite tier of international luxury resorts, where personalized service, world‑class dining, and transformative experiences define every stay.

With 202 elegantly appointed guestrooms, 42 expansive suites, and two private villas — each with sweeping Pacific views — the resort invites guests into a realm of effortless sophistication. From jungle‑framed treatment rooms in the full‑service spa to three infinity‑edge pools overlooking the ocean, every detail inspires serenity and connection. Guests will savour regionally inspired cuisine at three signature restaurants and celebrate life’s milestones in 27,000 square feet of indoor and open‑air event space designed for destination weddings, executive retreats, and high‑profile gatherings.

The General Manager will act as the visionary and steward of the Omni Pontoque Resort experience. Beyond operational excellence, this leader will be charged with crafting a culture of refined service, authentic Mexican hospitality, and transformative guest journeys.

As the resort’s primary strategic business leader, the General Manager will be accountable for all facets of the operation — from guest satisfaction and brand positioning to financial performance and talent development — ensuring the property achieves both short‑term success and long‑term brand equity.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of the pre‑opening and launch, including talent acquisition, operational systems, service culture, and positioning strategy.
  • Inspire, mentor, and develop a leadership team that embodies Omni’s luxury ethos and commitment to personalised guest service.
  • Establish the resort as a market leader in Punta de Mita, leveraging sales, revenue, and marketing strategies to capture market share and outperform the comp set.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with owners, local community leaders, and global brand partners.
  • Oversee operations across rooms, F&B, spa/wellness, events, and recreation with a focus on seamless integration and uncompromising service.
  • Ensure consistent guest satisfaction scores that rival and exceed international luxury competitors.
  • Drive profitability while safeguarding the integrity of the guest experience and the long‑term value of the brand.
  • Champion Omni’s culture of genuine care for both guests and associates, fostering an environment of engagement, empowerment, and excellence.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as General Manager of a luxury resort (ultra‑luxury strongly preferred).
  • Previous experience in Mexico required; deep knowledge of regional culture, luxury clientele, and market positioning.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish & English
  • Proven pre‑opening leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Track record in oceanfront resort operations advantageous.
  • Exceptional leadership presence with the ability to inspire teams and engage high‑profile guests with discretion and elegance.
  • Strong financial acumen and P&L management experience (10+ years).
  • Experience in a unionised environment a plus.
