Your Purpose

We are seeking a Fraud Risk Sr Specialist to join our Fraud Prevention team. This role is crucial for safeguarding Bitso's ecosystem by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the organization. You will be responsible for executing comprehensive risk assessments for new and existing products and processes, ensuring alignment with our integrity standards and risk appetite. Additionally, this role owns Risk & Awareness, leading internal/external education initiatives to reduce preventable fraud and embed a strong risk management culture. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the company to embed a strong risk management culture.

Reports To

This person will report to the Senior Manager of Anti-Fraud Strategy, inside the Fraud Prevention team.

Who You Are

Failure to meet any of the following required qualifications could result in an automatic rejection.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in risk management, specifically with risk controls and mitigators.
• Proven experience in conducting risk assessments for products and processes, preferably within a tech or financial services company with exposure to the product lifecycle (e.g. onboarding, payments) and associated fraud risks.
• Prior experience in financial services risk areas, fraud prevention, or integrity is highly preferred.
• Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Spanish is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in risk assessment methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with and influence technical and non-technical teams.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to embrace change and thrive in an ever-evolving department.

What You Will Do

• Risk Assessment Execution
  • Lead and execute end-to-end risk assessments for new and existing products, features, and internal processes to identify potential integrity and fraud risks.
  • Develop and maintain risk assessment frameworks and methodologies to ensure consistency and thoroughness.
• Risk Mitigation & Control
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design and implement effective control mechanisms to mitigate identified risks.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of implemented controls and recommend improvements based on data insights and feedback.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Ensure a holistic approach to risk management, observing processes in the company that might need a risk-based approach and propose changes.
  • Communicate risk assessment findings, potential impacts, and recommended actions to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
