Position Summary

The Design Engineer supports the Engineering team by assisting with technical, documentation, testing, and design-related activities. This role provides hands-on experience in engineering processes, tools, and standards while developing foundational technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist engineers, designers, and technicians with day-to-day engineering tasks.
• Support product and process documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports
• Participate in testing, evaluation, and data collection activities
• Help prepare and maintain BOMs, drawings, and technical files
• Follow established engineering procedures, quality standards, and safety practices
• Assist with problem-solving activities under supervision
• Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives as assigned

Learning & Development Focus

• Gain exposure to Watlow engineering tools, systems, and workflows
• Learn basic principles of product design, testing, and manufacturing support
• Develop technical communication and documentation skills
• Receive coaching and mentoring from experienced engineers and designers

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a technical, engineering, or related program (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or similar)
• Basic understanding of engineering or technical concepts
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
• Willingness to learn and take feedback

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with CAD tools, technical drawings, or lab/testing environments (Solidworks preferred)
• Strong attention to detail
